ADVANTAGES OF THE COMPOSITE

Composite materials are formed through combining two or more materials with different properties. These different materials give the composite superior and unique properties such as high strength and design flexibility. Generally, fiber-reinforced plastic materials are understood when the composite material is mentioned.

NFG Branded Composite products are produced with Composite Paste consisting of glass fiber reinforced unsaturated polyester (GRP). Thermo-set products with high technical properties are obtained from this paste. Thermo-set plastics are liquid at the initial preparation phases. When heated, they get solidified and hard, and they become rigid and solid form. This is an irreversible production process. Thus, thermo-set plastics do not deform at high temperatures, and they are resistant to wear and other harsh environmental conditions. At the same time, they do not create chemical and biological environmental pollution. The Composite Industry is showing significant progress day by day, and more products are produced from composite materials due to its high strength, durability and service life.

Thousands of products are now manufactured with composite materials in sectors such as building and infrastructure products, city furniture, automotive and marine.

Corrosion Resistance

  • Composite products are designed for use in harsh environmental conditions. They do not want extra paint or other surface operation against corrosion.
  • They are resistant against many chemicals (acids, alkalis, solvents).
  • They have high UV stability.

Impact Resistance

  • Their structural flexibility gives products the resistance of impact, bending and fracture.
  • Their thermal expansion is low.
  • Their noise and vibration is low.

Aesthetic & Architectural Advantages

  • They have smooth surfaces.
  • They can be produced in a wide range of colours.
  • Even though they are lighter than metals, they are more robust.
  • They can be produced according to the values of desired tension, bending and impact strength.
  • They have long life and low maintenance requirements.
  • They reduce the application time and cost, and they are easy to install due to their light weight.
  • They can be cut with a saw, drilled with a drill. They can be used with screws, silicone and adhesive.
  • They have self-extinguishing feature, and they delay burning.
  • They are dimensionally stable.
  • They have low heat conduction.
  • They have electrical and water insulation properties.
  • There is no risk of theft as they have no scrap value.
